Dumpster Use Availability Changing
To help keep the dumpster available but manageable, without increasing costs, a gravity bar is across the top which restricts access. A combination lock had been placed on the dumpster to restrict it for Rockwood homeowner use. Rockwood homeowners received the code in the mail. It will also be available by logging into the Rockwood Only Access Section. Continued access is still under consideration.
PLEASE - do not overfill! Oversized items will have to be broken down, held until the next neighborhood clean up day (April 12th) or dealt with by the homeowner. Do NOT place/stack next to or on top of the dumpster! These actions will result in removal of the dumpster except during the summer.

RW Annual Meeting Highlights
The 2025 Rockwood Annual Meeting was held on a very chilly Tuesday, January 21st, at the Calvary Chapel, 190 South Rock Road.
President Blake Hoffman introduced current board members and welcomed new homeowners. He gave updates on the RRF facilities and grounds, including the contracting with a local company for pool opening/closing and regular maintenance. Blake reviewed and answered questions on the 2025 Rockwood financial report and budget.
Councilman Brandon Johnson talked about current city actions and agenda items. He invited homeowners to attend District 1 meetings, as well as the August budget meetings, especially if you have concerns about city services (public safety, tree trimming, street cleaning).
Joe Hutchinson, general manager of the pool, talked about status of 2025 planning and policies.
There is continued concern of abuse of the use of the dumpster at the RRF. Removal of the dumpster until the May pool opening, with perhaps an additional clean-up day with a commercial dumpster in the fall, as well as a couple of other security measures were put on the table.
Other topics of discussion included the homes+ care homes within the HOA, as well as a review of VRBO city code changes.
The slate of officers for the 2025 Rockwood Board was voted on and approved.

New Playground Open - Time to Play!
Yes, Rockwood kids on little bikes and trikes are headed to the park to check out all the new Play in the Park – an updated playground for younger kids and more inclusive is done
With your input, and the assistance of a dedicated group of parents (Thank you!), the decision was made to build in one year, instead of phases. CS Playgrounds professionally installed to help ensure it was properly done and safe to play.

From toddlers to middle schoolers (3-12 year-olds), there is something for their age level. Slide, swing, crawl, climb - kids can do it all!
Our park helps families connect, children make neighborhood friends and burn energy, and continue to make Rockwood a desirable neighborhood for future families. Most of the funds for this project came from the Rockwood Recreational Facility budget, with additional monies from the Rockwood general fund and private donations.

Auto larcenies are the most often reported issue in Rockwood! Do NOT leave anything of value in your vehicle - take it inside or lock it in the trunk. Lock your car! Err on the side of caution - Call 911 to report anything suspicious.
AUTO BURGLARY TIPS
- Never leave valuable items visible from outside
- Always lock your vehicle
- Park in a WELL-LIT area, visible from a window
- Do not leave your vehicle running when unattended
AUTO VANDALISM TIPS
- Park in a garage or, at least, in the driveway, if a garage is not available - LOCK YOUR CAR!
- Ensure your garage door is closed - even if you are just gone for a few minutes or in the back yard
- Utilize good lighting to illuminate around vehicles

Street safety is a #1 priority for Rockwood!
It is a busy neighborhood – kids, bikes, people walking their dogs – on their way to the park or just to visit a neighbor - invariably in the middle of the street.
It is up to each person to Be alert, slow down, look, listen, wear reflective clothing, and teach your kids to look, listen and use their eyes before using their feet.
Please note! From Memorial Day through Labor Day, the speed limit for Rockwood Road within sight of the pool is 20 MPH. Please watch for kids leaving the RRF parking lot!

Notes From the Board
Rockwood's Board of Directors meets the third Monday of each month in the Recreational Facility Patio Room, 7:00 p.m. All homeowners are invited, and encouraged, to attend.
The Board works to maintain/enhance Rockwood common properties, maintain covenants, promote safety and provide activities for Rockwood families while fiscally responsible. Current projects of the board include the budget, including a review of necessary maintenance and repair of common areas and the RRF, an updated neighborhood directory, covenant enforcement, Airbnb/VRBO rental policies and addressing any concerns of the residents regarding security. The board works contracts with HOA Management for accounting services and to review noted homeowner covenant violations and communications.
The past several years the Board has worked diligently to budget and plan for updating and maintaining Rockwood investments. Over the past couple of years, the board was able to see the completion or significant progress on multiple projects which will help protect Rockwood's investment for many years to come, including a major park playground addition and repair and painting of the entire perimeter wall.
The annual meeting traditionally held in January gives you an opportunity to meet with the board and HOA Management staff, discuss and approve the annual budget and review goals for the next year. Look for date and time posted in January.
